1: You and your friends go out to breakfast one morning. The diner gives you quite a few choices to make your meal. Main dish choices are: pancakes, toast, a bagel, muffin or english muffin. For your sides they have: omlettes, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns or grits. To complete your meal you have a choice of: Orange juice, Apple juice, Coffee or Hot Chocolate.

Since you have 5 choices of your main dish and 5 choices of your side dishes, you multiply and get 25. You than multiply that by 4 (drinks) and you get 100 as your answer. (5x5x4=100)

2: 5! = 5xx4x3x2x1

So far, it's been pretty hard for me to adjust to the new schedule. But it's getting a little bit easier everyday. This class in particular is a bit of a challenge because I have trouble remembering the algebra I learned in ninth grade. Completing the homework is only a hassle some nights depending on what classes I had that day. Other days it's no problem at all. Some of the strategies I use for help are asking friends, the text book, my parents and the internet. My goal for this year in math is to just grasp the concepts and be able to remember them for long term. Not just to pass tests as they're announced. For the next 2 weeks I want to focus on practicing more as opposed to just doing work when it's assigned. This will enhance my skills and allow me to do better as a student in the class.

So, I'm Deborah Riehl-Williams a.k.a Deb RW b.k.a Debbie or Deb. I'm obviously a junior here at Lower Merion and I have to say these last couple years have been interesting. Lost some friends but gained new ones and I think i've matured a lot since freshman year. As far as my life there's really nothing much to tell. I'm an only child and was raised by my grandparents. Music is my passion and that's where I'm headed for college and hopefully my profession later on. I also play basketball, volleyball, lacrosse and love them all. I chose not to play for the school this year so I can remain focused on my work. Outside of school I play basketball, I'm on a dance team, in a community based group called S.I.S.T.A.Z and I also like writing poetry/music. I've played the drums for 5 years and the cello for 8. I've had the same bestfriends since I was 3 years old and they're really the only people that I can call my true friends. I plan to attend college at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Considering the high expectations that need to be met, and also the competition you face trying to enter, I have a few other schools in mind as back-up. My goal this year is to become a better student and learn better study habits. I want to learn for long-term as opposed to memorization. Looking forward to this last year and continuing on after I graduate next year.
